The El Tucano
Hotel & Country Club is eight km north-east of Ciudad Quesada
on the left hand side of the road leading to Aguas Zarcas-look for the
large white gate. Facilities include a recommended restaurant, swimming
pool and sauna, and various sports facilities ranging from tennis courts
to miniature golf. Nearby thermal springs are tapped into three small
hot pools where you can soak away your ills. The thermal waters are
said to have medicinal and therapeutic properties. Horse, boat and vehicle
excursions can be arranged to anywhere in the region. The whole complex
is well-run and popular, and has expanded from about three dozen rooms
to over 90 in the last few years.
