La Carolina lodge sits on 170 acres in northwestern outback of Costa Rica. We have 2,500 feet of river front, with a backdrop of rich, tropical forest. Toucans, squawking green parrots, and hummingbirds are just a few of the birds nesting in the jungle canopy. The ranch is also home to many tropical mammals like sloths, anteaters, kinkajous and coitis, as well as giant butterflies, bromeliads, wild orchids, and other flora. Approximately 85 acres are dedicated to pastoral farmland for our cattle and horses, citrus groves and vegetable gardens. From the hilltops, one has stunning views of the neighboring volcanoes, Tenorio and Miravalles.

The lodge overlooks a fresh water river and lush tropical forest. For sunbathing and swimming there is a wooden deck built over a natural, crescent pool fed by a river. A deep shaded porch, with rocking chairs and hammocks, wraps around the lodge—a quiet place to cool off, nap, read and relax while watching the river flow. The lodge sleeps 12 guests comfortably, with two bathrooms and piping hot showers.
There are four bedrooms:
•3 private, double rooms
•1 large room with 7 single beds, perfect for groups or families.

We also have 4 additional private houses:
•one separate private house with 3 double beds and one private bathroom
•two separate private cabins with fireplaces both one double bed and private bathrooms one secluded private house with two bedrooms and one bathroom inside our property (10 minute walk from the main lodge or reachable by 4x4). All with Hot Showers.

Not included:

• entrance fee to the National Park Tenorio( $6.00 per person for foreigners, $1.00 per person for Costa Rican residents.
• the transportation to the National Park Tenorio  park ($20.00 per car for guests without transportation)
• alcohol at the lodge. (You might would like to buy special things like wine etc. on your way to the lodge, Bijagua is the last town for purchases)
