Being our first National Park, this 49,515-hectare preserve, is famous for its 10 distinct habitats, including mangrove swamp, savanna, and oak forest, home of more than 250 bird species and 115 mammals. Guests will learn along with our naturalist guide the importance of this ecosystem as well about the history of La Casona –the nation's most cherished historic monument. The old hacienda-turned-museum alone is well worth the visit. On the way back enjoy a visit to Liberia City to learn more about the history of Guanacaste.
